HABEMUS 50 MEIGA

Shortly before seven thirty in the afternoon of yesterday, the President of the Jury of Choice, María Aparicio Calzada, signed the final act by which 50 Meiga Mayor was appointed to the Coruña, of twenty-nine years, criminologist and businesswoman, Emma Cabezas Alvarez, like 50 Meiga Mayor for the HOGUERAS-2019.

Emma, took over and picked up the witness of his predecessor in charge, Maria Garcia Nieto, and the inheritance of Estrella Pardo Castiñeiras, I Meiga Mayor of the Bonfires of Juan, proclaimed, as such, in June 1970.

The 50 Meiga Mayor, receiving excited appointment, said he will work, without haggling efforts, so that the Bonfires of San Juan de La Coruña, a holiday of international tourist interest, recover the brilliance that gradually have been losing since the arrival of the the tide to the coruñés Town Hall.
