Farewell dinner of the naval commander and his wife

Last night, the Association of Meigas of the Bonfires of San Juan, offered a farewell dinner to the Navy Captain of the General Corps of the Navy, Fernando Suárez Fonseca, until past dates Naval Commander of La Coruña and member of the Honor Committee of the HOGUERAS.

During the act, his wife, Rosario Enriquez Marquez, was awarded the title of Honorary Major Meiga, granted by the Association of Meigas.

The dinner was served in the restaurant “Arbore da veira”, owned by the famous chef Luis Veira, and was attended by the President of the Association of Meigas, the Meiga Major 2018, as well as members of its Board of Directors and the Promoter Commission.

The event was attended by the Chief of the Operational Logistics Force, General Sánchez Fernández; the Director of Personnel of the Army of Earth, General Busquier Sáez; the Chief of Protection of the Navy, General Pérez-Urruti; the Head of the E. M. of the Operational Logistics Force, General Pérez de Aguado; the Delegate of Defense in Galicia, Colonel Bernal Martín; Colonel Ruesta Botella, Chief of the Third Marine Corps, among other Authorities and Representations.

La Meiga Mayor 2018, María García Nieto, was in charge of giving Rosario Márquez, her title of Honorary Major Meiga, accompanied by a fofucha dressed in the Regional Costume and the Band of Meiga Mayor.

The offer of the act was verified by the President of the Association of Meigas, Mª de la Concepción Astray, who had words of affectionate praise for both the Captain de Ship, and his wife , highlighting its collaboration with HOGUERAS ; At its conclusion, the President presented Captain de Suarez Fonseca with a ceramic reproduction of an image of San Juan, Patron of the Association of Meigas.

Finally, the honoree spoke to thank the Association of Meigas and the attendees, the samples of affection they received since their arrival in Galicia and, especially, in last night. For his part, Captain de Suárez Fonseca, delivered to the President of the Association a method of the Ferrol Maritime Action Force under his command.
