EMMA CABEZAS ALVAREZ, 50 MEIGA MAYOR

In the afternoon yesterday, under the presidency of María Aparicio Calzada, the annual meeting of the Jury of Election of the 50 Meiga Mayor, composed of a total of thirty women from the world of teaching, was held at the Sporting Club Casino. the company, the exercise of the liberal professions, as well as Meigas Mayores and Meigas de Honor of different editions of HOGUERAS.

Before them passed the nine selected candidates, the Coruñesas Emma Cabezas Alvarez, Mónica Gómez López, Eva González Fernández, Ana Mañas Hernández, Mª Luz Pose Reinoso, Mª Sol Pose Reinoso, Mónica Quintiana Millán, Alba Rodríguez Santos and Alexandra Tomás Fernández, who presented his personal video and answered the numerous questions asked by the different members of the Jury of Choice.

Finally, after the vote, it was proclaimed as 50 Meiga Mayor for the HOGUERAS-2019, the young Emma Cabezas Alvarez, a twenty-nine-year-old businesswoman from A Coruña, who obtained the majority of the votes of the Jury of Election.

At eight thirty in the afternoon, at an event also held at the Sporting Club Casino facilities, presented by Carmen Mª No, Emma Cabezas, was officially presented as 50 Meiga Mayor of the Bonfires of San Juan, while the girl Ainhoa Souto Arístegui, it was like XXXVI Meiga Mayor Infantil for the HOGUERAS-2019.

At the presentation ceremony, attended the General Head of the Operational Logistics Force; the General Head of the General Staff of said force; the General Head of the XV Zone of the Civil Guard; the Delegate of Defense in Galicia; the Naval Commander of La Coruña; the head of the provincial Tourism Department of the Xunta; Representations of the Partido Popular, PSOE, Ciudadanos and VOX; Presidents of the Sporting Club Casino, Casa de León and Casa de Cantabria and other representations of the city’s social and cultural life.

In her speech, Emma Cabezas, glossed, with excited words, the honor and pride felt to be named 50 Meiga Mayor, placing special emphasis on not haggling efforts to make the San Juan 2019 shine again with the same brightness that it did until three years ago,

The turn of interventions, it was closed by the President of the Association of Meigas, Mª Concepción Astray, who took stock of the last fifty years of those who said, served, thanks to the Meigas, so that the party of the HOGUERAS reached the levels achieved despite the difficulties, insults and humiliations to which they have been subjected over the past three years, with the hope that in this year, the Meigas, may return to occupy the position that for their work and dedication have been earned deservedly.
