FRANCISCO GOMEZ COBAS; 40 YEARS OF WOMEN IN SPANISH POLICE; NONITO PEREIRA REVUELTA; DESIRE VILA BARGIELA; MANUEL SANTIAGO ARENAS ROCA AND THE TRANVIAS COMPANY, RECEIVE THE SAN JUAN 2019 AWARDS
Yesterday afternoon, day 10, Belén Mª Do Campo Piñeiro, President of the Jury of the 2019 San Juan Awards, announced the ruling corresponding to this edition of these Awards given annually by the Association of Meigas de las Hogueras de San Juan, in recognition of the work done by institutions, entities and individuals for the benefit of our city.
After extensive deliberation the following Prizes were awarded:
Award “King Alfonso IX” to the institutional work of Francisco Gómez Cobas, Director of the Military Historical Museum of La Coruña.
“María Pita” Award for citizen values at the age of 40 for women in the Spanish Police.
Award “Lieutenant General Fernández Vallespín” to the culture and artistic values of Nonito Pereira Revuelta.
“Meiga Mayor” award for sport at Desirée Vila Bargiela.
Prize “Marineda” to coruñesismo, to the Company of Tramways of La Coruña.
Award “Inés De Ben” for entrepreneurship and innovative effort to Mr. Manuel Santiago Arenas Roca.
All these Awards will be delivered by 50 Meiga Mayor, Emma Cabezas Alvarez, during the XLIX Feast of the Poetic Coven, act of exaltation of 50 Meiga Mayor and Meigas of Honor of the HOGUERAS-2019 that will be celebrated the next day 15 of the currents, at 20,00 hours, in the Rosalía Castro Municipal Theater.
Likewise, the Organizing Committee of the HOGUERAS-2019 , awarded, in recognition of its work to safeguard the essences and traditions of the night of San Juan in our city, “Cardo de Oro” in its individual modality to Ignacio Rivera Quintana, CEO of the Star of Galicia, and “Cardo de Plata”, in the same modality, to the Colonel of Marine Infantry, Juan Ruesta Botella, Commander of the North Third; Salvador Gascón Serra, director of the Coral Santo Angel; Jesús García, director of the Theater Group of Tanxedoira and Abelardo López Ramos, President of the Tuna Veterans.
Regarding the group modality, “Cardo de Oro” at the Sporting Club Casino and the Social Center of the Sagrada Familia; “Cardo de Plata” to the Coral of the Casa del Mar and “Cardo de Bronce” to the Coral Voces Veteranas de Culleredo.
These awards, which reward the collaboration given by those who receive them with the Organizing Committee of the HOGUERAS , will be delivered during the Acts of exaltation to be held on May 15 and 25, respectively.
