THE DINNER OF THE 50th ANNIVERSARY OF THE MAJOR MEIGA IS CELEBRATED

Last night, at the Arbore da Veira restaurant, in the incomparable setting of the Monte de San Pedro, the 50th anniversary dinner of the Major Meiga that brought together Meigas Mayores, Meigas, Meigas Mayor Infantiles, Meigas de Honor and Children’s Meigas of Honor of the different editions of HOGUERAS.

The event was attended by the Chief General of the Operational Logistics Force; the Chief General of the Armed Protection Force; the Chief General of the XV Civil Guard Zone; the Delegate of Defense in Galicia; the Naval Commander of La Coruña; Colonel Commander of the Tercio del Norte of the Marine Corps, the popular Councilor Roberto Coira, as well as different representations and a large group of friends and collaborators of the Association of Meigas, as well as some of the founders of the Bonfire Promoter Commission of San Juan in 1970.

In addition to the 50th Major Meiga, Emma Cabezas, Mª Concepción Astray, Meiga Mayor 1985 also attended; Isabel Iglesias, Meiga Mayor 1998; Eva Vilariño, Meiga Mayor 2002; Jennifer Bermudez, Meiga Mayor 2009; Asun González, Meiga Mayor 2011; Lucía Fonte, Meiga Mayor 2014; Alejandra Mosquera, Meiga Mayor Infantil 2013; Alba Rodríguez, Meiga Mayor Infantil 2016 and Ainhoa Souto, Meiga Mayor Infantil 2019, as well as a large group of Meigas de Honor and Meigas de Honor Infantiles of other editions, in addition to the Board of Directors in full of the Association of Meigas.

Different Major and Honor Meigas of other editions, residents outside the city, adhered to this act, sending different communications.

After a delivery of memories to each of the Meigas present, the act concluded with emotional words from the President of the Association of Meigas, Mª Concepción Astray, who made votes so that in the HOGUERAS-2020, the prominence of so unworthy, vile and beautiful, the ones who ruined the city for the past four years have stolen us.

A motivating and sympathetic evening that has been recorded in the annals of the history of our HOGUERAS.
