PRESENTED THE HISTORY OF THE PROMOTING COMMISSION OF THE HOGUERAS DE SAN JUAN DE LA CORUÑA

With a large influx of audiences, the official presentation of “The dream of our night in San Juan. History of the Promotional Commission of the Bonfires of San Juan” was held in the Culture Hall of the Sporting Club Casino yesterday afternoon. de La Coruña “, edited by the Association of Meigas of the Bonfires of San Juan and by the Arenas Library, of which José Eugenio Fernández Barallobre is the author.

The act, led by Carmen Mª No, was attended by Belén Mª Do Campo, General Director of Livestock of the Xunta de Galicia; Antonio Bernal Martín, Delegate of Defense in Galicia; Juan Borrego, I Deputy Mayor of the City Council; the one that was Mayor José Manuel Lieaño Flores; the Meiga Mayor Infantil 2019, as well as Presidents of Entities and representations of the social and cultural life of the city.

The event was also attended by Meigas Mayores, Meigas Mayores Infantiles, Meigas de Honor and Meigas de Honor Infantiles of several editions, as well as some of the founders and first directors of the Promoter Commission, among which were Carlos Vallo; Miguel Fernández, Miguel Saez; Carlos Fernández and Pablo Molina.

The presentation of the work was carried out by the President of the Association of Meigas, Mª Concepción Astray, and the President of Honor and Gold Medal of the Commission, Francisco Vázquez Vázquez, who outlined the work of the Promoting Commission throughout the years.

Finally, the author of the book, referred to the circumstances of the genesis of the Promoter Commission, as well as some of the anecdotes and avatars that have emerged throughout the fifty years of the Commission’s life.

Previously, a video was projected that includes some of the most outstanding moments in the history of the Promoter Commission.

The act concluded with the signing of books by the author.
