TODAY, THE BONDS BEGIN-2019, THE YEARS OF THE 50 MEIGAS IN THE HISTORY

The program is composed of a set of social, cultural, sports and popular events.

Within the social acts, there are Acts of exaltation of the Meigas (Festivals of the Coven and the Poetic Solstice); Festa da Danza das Meigas; Proclamation of the Senior Veteran Meiga; Procession of San Juan; Offerings to San Juan; to Our Lady of the Rosary; Virgen del Carmen and Our Lady of Solitude; Tributes to the Coruña woman; to María Pita; to King Alfonso IX; Brigadier Diego del Barco; to the Royal Philanthropic Expedition of Balmis and the deceased Coruñeses.

The cultural activities will focus on two sections, the “Coruñesas Pages” series, with four conferences and round tables, and the Music and Dance Theater Days with its Theater cycles, with five representations; “Voices Meigas”, with thirteen recitals of Choral Music and Tunas; “Luminarias del Clasicismo”, with three chamber and jazz music concerts; “Música en la Calle”, with five concerts of Bands of Music and “Noches de Danza”, with six dance and ballet shows.

For its part, in the section on popular events, we hope, after the elections on June 26, to regain the popular protagonism that so artfully, sectarianly and unworthy they subtracted the tide, the Committees, the parades, the Cabalgata de San Juan, the Comitiva del Fuego de San Juan and the burning of the allegorical bonfire, as had been done since 1971.

Regarding the sports section, the 1st “Meiga Mayor” Golf Championship will be held.

The frameworks for holding these events, free of charge, will be the Cultural Center of the Sporting Club Casino; Circus of Artisans; House of the Sea; Social Center of the Sagrada Familia; Church of San Andrés; San Nicolás, Third Order; Saint George; Jesuits; Paseo de la Dársena and others.

In the publications section, the magazine HOGUERAS-2019 will be published; General Poster; Triptych; Partial programs and partial posters.
