ANOTHER RIDE BY THE CITY. THE LAMENTABLE APPEARANCE OF THE SEA WALLS

For many years the people of La Coruña were able to recreate us with the contemplation of the old walls of sea that, with their doors, overlook Parrote and Animas. These were years in which, through incompressible indifference, the undergrowth was allowed to conceal most of the canvases of the wall, especially the so-called Holy Spirit who succumbed to an uncontrolled "attack" of an army of wild herbs and plants.

With the arrival to the municipal government of the Popular Party, with Mayor Negreira at the head, an ambitious project of recovery of the walls that included its cleaning and illumination was initiated, leaving them exposed in all their splendor if we make abstraction of the zone next to The door of San Miguel that was left unattended for reasons we do not know.

Even that plan of the wall went further with a projected walk through its upper part for which demolished the building that, once, housed the pavilions of the Chiefs and Military Medical Officers. In the end, with the departure of the municipal government, all that was left in nothing.

However, if today we approach the wall of sea we observe that the abandonment, like that of practically the whole city, begins to be alarming. It cost a lot of money to the pockets of the Coruñeses that rehabilitated the walls and what only demanded of a minimum maintenance soon will have to turn into another new plan of generalized cleaning.

To the tide all this, like everything else, does not care about anything, they only care about changing names of streets, eliminating traditions and trying, by all means, to ideologically standardize the city with its pamphlet policy of turning the facade Of the City Council on a bulletin board to claim only that which fits their postulates.

As a picture is worth a thousand words, there goes the wall today.

6º.- The Jardines de la Maestranza are not much better either. The lawn is dry in some areas. The walls and ornamental elements filled with graffiti.

Now it is OK. Those of the tide that do not forget that the money that they handle and of which they charge is of all the coruñeses, even of those that we care about the city, and that if they are there it is to serve to all the citizens and not only to their interests Partisans, revanchists and sectarians.

But what has been said, it is the fault of the tide and those who keep them in the City Hall with their vote.
