SURPRISED

09/04/16 We are once again surprised by the tide with its news, inserted in a digital medium, that this year "San Juan will be richer." We do not know very well what they mean above all, when days ago, one of their councilors announced to the Meigas Association directives that this year the party would be reduced to the burning of the bonfire and a celebration for the little ones in The day of the 24th. Where they said I say now they say Diego, something to which already they have us very accustomed since it has happened in other occasions and in other facets. In short, the heart of the matter is easily understandable, it is simply a matter of eliminating the Association of Meigas from the San Juanian panorama of our city, to corner them to make forget almost fifty years of history. Now they say that the call in which they were informed that it was prohibited to celebrate the acts that the Association of Meigas are planning to do on the day of June 23, was not realized, that everything was an invention of the directive of the Association to confuse the Coruñeses. Well no gentlemen, no; The call came, we ignored with what intention but it occurred and someone advanced a decision that was undoubtedly taken: to prohibit, a word that it is hard to pronounce especially those who call themselves Democrats and who demand that others practice that democracy with They, something that they are unable to put into practice with those who do not share their ideas. The call came about, probably without appreciating the consequences but it occurred and now needs to be reversed; How, very easy accusing the one who received it that it lies. The height of impudence. Proof of the manifest lack of democratic will is the fact that although the municipal groups of the Popular Party and the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party, which joined the majority, adhered to a motion in which the municipal government was required to collaborate with the Association of Meigas in the organization of the HOGUERAS-2016, these passed by and continued with their work of harassment and demolition. It is curious that these same people who say, loudly, that they are there by the votes of the citizens, something that is certain, obviate that the other citizens who also voted and who are represented by the other political options can urge them to modify a Unfair posture. We will never tire of saying that if the Hogueras have arrived here, in most of the measures it is owed to the Promoter Commission and the Association of Meigas who, since 1970, have worked tirelessly to keep the tradition alive, to promote it and Disseminate it. Therefore wanting to remove them from the middle is simply a trick. But what's more, even if the City Council wants to burn its bonfire and that is responsible for turning it on whoever is in its full right, it would lack more, but the same right that the Association of Meigas has to burn theirs and that ignites the Bigger ; Or do not you have that right? Do the parties have to be a municipal monopoly? Is it possible that no one can have initiatives that are not controlled by the public authorities? That sounds like a dictatorship and all dictatorships, whatever their sign, are equally open to criticism. All, not only those that interest one or the other according to the political sign they possess. Celebrate your San Juan but let the others celebrate ours; Do not forbid something that, without being illegal, is deeply rooted in our city. It is tradition and traditions, whether we like them or not, we have to respect them.
