THE CARDOS AWARDED 2016

At the meeting of the Organizing Committee of the HOGUERAS-2016 held last day, the Cardos of this edition were granted, in their different modalities.

The winners this year, who are recognized for their work to safeguard the traditions of San Juan Coruña, are the following entities and individuals:

Cardo de Oro in the collective mode: La Voz de Galicia and El Gallego.

Silver thistle in the individual modality: Belén Ferreiro López, Meiga Mayor-2016; José Ramón Onega López, Delegate of the Xunta de Galicia in Madrid; Miguel García Santiago, Lieutenant Colonel of Engineers; Miguel Cancio Alvarez, university professor; Carmen Mª No Varela, Meiga de Honor of the HOGUERAS-1995; Eva Iglesias, COPE journalist; Laura García Vera-Alvarez, choreographer; Ricardo Couto, President of the Alcoa-Inespal Choir; Guadalupe Teuntor, soprano, and Juan Mª Santos Gayoso (Napoleon), President of the Quarantine.

Thistle of Silver in the modality of collective: Chain COPE.

Bronze Thistle in Collective Mode: Carmen Dance School.

These awards will be delivered during the Festivals of the Aquelarre and Pools Solstice to celebrate the next days 19 and 21 of the currents.
