We reproduce, with pleasure, the letter sent to us by our good friend José Carlos Fernández Villar, it says:
"I am a coruña of adoption, I have been collaborating with the Bonfires of San Juan for several years and I have done it before with the San Juan Bonfire Commission and now with the Association of Meigas de San Juan, in an altruistic and disinterested way, without asking Nothing in return. It is my job for a party as coruñesa as San Juan.
June 23 was one of the most beautiful days of the year. Everything began in the morning, very early, when the Meigas de San Juan performed several tributes, touring the streets of La Coruña and lit in fire that later, at night, would serve to ignite the universal bonfire, late in the morning Were received by the Mayor and since early hours of the afternoon, went down to start covering the descent of the people to the beaches to mount their bonfires and then, in the middle of the afternoon, to watch as the bands and musical groups walked the promenade .
At night, he resumed the story with the arrival of the Meigas and Heraldillos to the Calle del Sol, before they got into the carriages. At that moment he used to take snapshots with the general view of the beaches of Riazor and Orzan full of bonfires that, little by little, were going on the way of Meigas in the floats.
Then, the counterpoint was put on by the cheerful and bustling motorcade that accompanied the entourage of the Fire San Juan; After her, the Cavalcade of San Juan that approached the Meigas to the place where the Bonfire was located and there, the two Meigas Majors were the ones in charge to light the great Bonfire of San Juan.
This year will be a very sad San Juan because almost all these acts of the H OGUERAS can not be celebrated because of the impediments of the Municipal Government of Atlantic tide.
Long live the San Juan with its traditions!
Jose Carlos Fdez. "
Thank you very much, my friend, and happy Saint John 2016.
