TODAY, AUGUST 29, WE COMMEMORATE THE MARTYRDAY OF SAN JUAN

Today Saturday, August 29, commemorating the Martyrdom of Saint John the Baptist, the Association of Meigas de las Hogueras de San Juan de La Coruña will celebrate its traditional offering before the image of the Holy Forerunner.

The events scheduled for today, the 29th, will take place in the San Andrés Castrense church where, at 9:00 p.m., a Mass will be celebrated in which Emma Cabezas Alavez, 50 Meiga Mayor de las HOGUERAS-2019, will present the offering before the image of the Saint and then the older and children’s Meigas, as well as the President of the Association herself will make a floral offering.

Later, in the same framework, an institutional act will be held where the Association of Meigas de las Hogueras de San Juan, on behalf of the Promoting Commission, will impose the distinctive Medals of Meigas , in different categories, to Meigas Mayores, Meigas Mayores Infantiles and Meigas de Honor from previous editions, as well as the new Directors of the Entity.
