THE ASOCIACION DE MEIGAS DE LA HOGUERAS DE SAN JUAN DE LA CORUÑA CHOOSES THE GREATEST MEIGA FOR HOGUERAS-20

Today, Saturday the 7th, the Asociación de Meigas de las Hogueras de San Juan de La Coruña, will choose the young woman who, in the near future, will be proclaimed LI Meiga Mayor de las HOGUERAS-20 , declared Festival of International Tourist Interest , which will culminate in the celebration of “a Noite da Queima”, on the Night of San Juan.

This act of choosing the Biggest Meiga will be held in the Salons of the Sporting Club Casino in La Coruña, where a jury will be set up, entirely female, made up of businesswomen, housewives and professionals from different sectors, as well as Meigas Mayores, Meigas Mayores Infantiles and Honor from past editions; they will be in charge of assessing the profile of each of the candidates to finally elect the Biggest Girlfriend 2020.

Both the Meiga Mayor and her Meigas de Honor, as well as their children’s namesakes, with the Meiga Mayor Infantil, Inés Taranilla Vázquez, at the helm , will hold the representation of the Association of Friends of the Bonfires of San Juan in the different events that are part of the program of HOGUERAS-20 that will begin in the second decade of next May, extending until the end of June.

Among the activities to be chaired by the Meigas-20, the Dance Competition of A Noite da Queima stand out; the Feasts of the Poetic Coven and Solstice; the Festa da Danza das Meigas; el Homage to the Flag; el Homage to the Woman Coruñesa; the historical recreation of the Cortes of 1520 and the central acts that will take place on June 23 and 24, in which we hope that the brilliance of previous editions will be recovered, as well as a series of organized activities, especially, to commemorate this ephemeris.
