THE OFFER OF SAN JUAN IS CELEBRATED

Shortly after six o’clock in the afternoon, the Meigas-2017 delegation headed from the Canton Grande to the church of the Third Order where the traditional Mass was held in San Juan.

The party, headed by the Meiga Mayor, toured the streets of the center of Corunna if you can access the Plaza de María Pita by express prohibition of the municipal government of the tide. Together with the Meiga Mayor, the Meigas de Honor and Meigas de Honor Infantiles; The Guard of Honor of the Meigas, Brackets, Heralds and Heraldillos.

At seven o’clock in the afternoon began the solemn Mass which was officiated by Ismael Velo, Chaplain of the Association of Meigas, and sung by the Choir of the Holy Family. The religious office was attended by the General Chief of the Operative Logistics Force and the former Mayor Jose Manuel Laiño, along with other authorities and representations.

The official offering was read by the President of the Meigas Association, Mª Concepción Astray, who begged the Saint to intercede to protect all the Coruñeses and his image serve as an example to the youth.

After reading the invocation, the Meigas performed the offering of flowers at the foot of the image of the Saint.
