BELEN FERREIRO PROCLAMADA XLVII MEIGA MAYOR

The Hall of Culture of the Sporting Club Casino was packed to attend the celebration of the Ceremony of Proclamation and Imposition of Bands to the Meigas of the HOGUERAS-2016.

The event began with the proclamation of Belén Ferreiro López as XLVII Meiga Mayor for the HOGUERAS-2016, imposing on him the Accredited Band the General Interim Chief of the Operative Logistics Force, General Francisco Sánchez Fernández.

The Ceremony was attended by, besides the General Head of the FLO, the General Director of Gandería de la Xunta, Belén Mª Do Campo Piñeiro; The National Deputy Miguel Lorenzo Torres; The Senator Maria Aparicio; The Subdelegate of the Government, Jorge Atan Castro; The Chief of the 15th Civil Guard Zone, General José María Feliz Cadenas; The General Assistant to the FLO, General Manuel Busquier Sáez; The Delegate of Defense, Colonel Juan Carlos Sancha Orduña; The Autonomous Deputy Gonzalo Trenor López; The Councilors of the Popular Party, Lucía Canabal Pérez and Mariel Padín Fernández, and the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party, José Manuel Dapena Varela; The President of the Association of the Press, Manuel González Menéndez, and other representations among which were Presidents of different Entities of the city who were in charge of imposing the Band to the Meigas de Honor and Meigas de Honor Infantiles.

The act, which was brilliant, concluded the intervention of the Major Children's Association, Alba Rodríguez Santos, and the Meiga Mayor, Belén Ferreiro López, who in their speeches, very emotional and full of meaning, expressed their willingness to work in La Coruña And their HOGUERAS.

The President of the Meigas Association, Mª Concepción Astray Gómez, closed the ceremony with a few words in which she thanked the Authorities, representatives and guests for their presence at this event with which the HOGUERAS-2016 began.

The interpretation of Pasodoble Meiga Mayor, official anthem of the HOGUERAS, and of the Hymns of Galicia and Spain, put the finishing touch to this endearing Ceremony that was conducted by the Meiga Mayor 2010, Nadia Quintela Rodríguez.
