HOMAGE TO CORUÑEZ WOMEN

At 6:30 pm yesterday, in the Jardines de Méndez Núñez, the first part of the tribute to the Coruña Woman was celebrated; In this first part the Meiga Mayor and the President of the Association of Meigas, accompanied by the Meigas de Honor and Meigas de Honor Infantiles, deposited their wreath before the monuments of Concepción Arenal and Emilia Pardo Bazán.

With this simple act was remembered to Coruñesas women of the stature of Teresa Herrera and Juana de Vega, in addition to the aforementioned.

After this phase of the tribute, the Comite de las Meigas was formed, which, led by the Padron Music Band and accompanied by the Honor Guard, Brackets, Heralds and Heraldillos, moved to the Plaza de María Pita where the central event Of the Tribute.

At the same time, the Organizing Staff of the Association of Meigas presented carnations to the women of La Coruña as they passed through the streets of the city center.
