MOTION IN FAVOR OF THE HOGUERAS

10/02/16 The Municipal People's Group will present tomorrow a motion in favor of the HOGUERAS, before the Municipal Plenary, demanding that the city government maintain the traditional line of collaboration hitherto provided by the popular and socialist governments that succeeded each other In front of the destinations of La Coruña. The motion, which will defend the popular mayor Lucía Canabal, is preceded by the sectarian and revanchist attitude observed by the Government of the tide towards the Association of Meigas since her arrival to Maria Pita. Throughout these months all sorts of disrespect and disregard for the work of the group of women who run the Association have taken place and they have succeeded in having the HOGUERAS declared last year as a Festival of International Tourist Interest. It is planned that tomorrow, among the public benches, feel the Meiga Mayor as well as a representation of Meigas de Honor and directors of the Association. We encourage the municipal Socialist Group, who has collaborated for many years with our HOGUERAS, to support this motion that will benefit the city, against the sectarian and chauvinist policies of the current municipal government.
