CELEBRATED THE TRIBUTE TO THE KING D. ALFONSO IX

As is traditional, the morning of today, June 23, began with the tribute of the Meigas before the monument to King D. Alfonso IX, the monarch who gave La Coruña its Carta Puebla in 1208, located in the vicinity of the Tower of Hercules.

After reading the Royal Certificate by which the King granted to La Coruña the Puebla Charter and the Fuero de Benavente, on June 1, 1208, the Megas de Honor and Meigas de Honor Children, made a wreath, after which, the 50 Meiga Mayor and the Children’s Meiga Mayor, deposited a laurel wreath.

With the interpretation of the Hymns of Galicia and National, the act was finished.
