THE ACT OF COMMEMORATION OF THE MARTIRIO DE SAN JUAN IS CELEBRATED

In the afternoon of today celebrated the commemorative acts of the martyrdom of San Juan with which the Association of Meigas gave finished the HOGUERAS-2016 . The commemoration began with an institutional event held in the Multipurpose Room of the Military History Museum in which Alba Rodríguez, Meiga Mayor Infantil 2016 took part; Belén Ferreiro, Meiga Mayor 2016 and Mª Concepción Astray, President of the Meigas Association, who fired the 2016 biennium, welcoming 2017. In their interventions, they had words of thanks to the Institutions, Entities and individuals that made possible the program of HOGUERAS of the present year and of repulsion towards the sectarian, revanchista and arbitrary attitude of the Tide Town Hall who by all means, and if modest, I try to avoid that the events organized by the Association are celebrated.

Later, in the church of the Third Order, the Holy Mass was offered to Saint John. This year was presented by the Meiga Mayor 2016, Belén Ferreiro, who thanked the Saint Precursor for the favors received, implying his protection for the year that begins.

These events were attended by the General Head of the FLO; The Delegate of Defense; The General of the XV Zone of the Civil Guard; The Colonel, Military Commander of La Coruña; A representation of the popular Municipal Group, as well as other representations, along with Meigas Mayores, Meigas Mayores Infantiles, of past editions; In union of Meigas de Honor and Meigas de Honor Infantiles, both of the present edition and of previous ones.

With this act are finished by the HOGUERAS-2016 , villainously torpedoed by those of the tide, and begin those of 2017 that hopefully are brighter if it is achieved that the nightmare is where the city is plunged from the 2015 if it ends.
