THE AQUELARRE ABARROTO EL ROSALIA

With brilliance was celebrated, yesterday evening, the XLVII Feast of the Poetic Aquelarre, act of exaltation of the Meiga Mayor, Ana Souto, and the Meigas de Honor 2017 that crowded the Rosalía Castro Municipal Theater. A serious party, solemn and elegant as it deserves a city like La Coruña, which served to exalt the beauty and mastery of the Coruña woman represented by the Meigas of the Bonfires of San Juan.

The Festival was attended by different authorities and representations, among which were the General Directors of the Xunta Belén Do Campo and Mª Nava Castro; The General Chief of Staff of the Operative Logistics Force, Brig. Gen. Busquier Sáez; The Higher Police Chief of Galicia, Manuel Vázquez, among others, as well as the Meiga Mayor Infantil, Fraia Korsgaard and his Meigas de Honor Infantiles, and representatives of different Entities and Regional Houses of the city.

In the first part of the event, the Music Unit of the Headquarters of the Operative Logistics Force, under the direction of Captain Musician Ivan Rodriguez Arman, premiered the work, composed by the aforementioned Director, entitled "Invocation of the Meigas de las Hogueras" ; Later, the mentioned Music Unit in union of the Corals of Oleiros, Fonte do Souto and A Lembranza de Sada interpreted the "Meiga Mayor", arranged for Banda and Coros by Captain Rodríguez Armán.

The second part of the Fiesta began with the parade of honor of the Meigas of the HOGUERAS-2017 , Alejandra Mosquera Pérez; María Gende Piñuelo; Carmen Fragoso Gundín; Sara Reboredo Fonte; Bárbara Alvarez López; Belén Campos González; Sandra Calvo Filgueira and Valentina Santa Cruz Salazar, who closed the Meiga Mayor, Ana Souto Páez.

Subsequently the Meiga Mayor imposed the "Golden Cardo" on the General Director of Tusrismo, Mª Nava castro Domínguez and the "Cardos de Plata" Rosa Mª Gallego Neira, Councilor of the PP in the City of Corunna; José Manuel Dapena Varela, Councilor of the PSOE in the City Council; Manuel Ferreiro Regueiro, director of the newspaper El Ideal Gallego, Francisco Gómez Cobas, director of the Military Museum, Iván Rodríguez Armán, director of the FLO Music Unit and Alfonso Mosquera López. Likewise, Ana Souto presented to the RRI, Artsenos and RSD Hipica, two "Silver Thistles" in the collective mode.

The literary brooch of the Festival was put by the General Director of Tourism of the Xunta de Galicia, Mª Nava Castro, who read the proclamation of the Festival of the Poetic Aquelarre that is also the HOGUERAS-2017 , in which he emphasized the importance Of the festival of the bonfires of San Juan in our city and the outstanding role of both the Promoter Commission and the Association of Meigas to achieve not only consolidate it but get the title of International Tourist Interest. Nava Castro, who made a beautiful cato to La Coruña, to its customs and traditions, to the Tower of Hercules, to our incomparable bay, to the Coruñeses and to the customs and traditions of the night of San Juan, ended up encouraging all to follow Fighting to enlarge the party without fainting despite all the avatars.

The XLVII Feast of the Poetic Aquelarre, which was magnificently led by Asunción González Campos, Meiga Mayor 2011, and Silvia Lamelas Soto, who glowed on stage, concluded with the traditional Homage of the Meigas de Honor and the Lady of San Juan to La Coruña, the interpretation of the Hymns of Galicia and National and with the honor parade of departure.
