THE MEIGAS BEFORE THE MONUMENT TO MARIA PITA

The culmination of the Homage to the Coruñese Woman’s Day, the wreath was presented at the monument to the heroine María Pita, held at 7:30 p.m. during the last years it was systematically prohibited, except in 2107, by the sectarians of the tide.

Once again, the Meigas were able to enter the Plaza Mayor of A Coruña, something that they were also prohibited, in an unworthy, arbitrary and inexplicable manner, by the tide.

Once before the monument to the heroine, Emma Cabezas, 50 Meiga Mayor, read the official offering and later, the Meigas deposited flowers at the foot of the statue.

After the laying of a laurel wreath by the 50 Meiga Mayor and the Meiga Mayor Infantil 2019, the Anthems of Galicia and Nacional were performed, the act being over.
