TRIBUTE TO THE REAL PHILANTHROPIC EXPEDITION OF THE VACCINE

Also this afternoon, the Meigas 2017, went to the monument that in memory of the Royal Philanthropic Expedition of the Smallpox Vaccine, directed by the Navy Doctor, Fracisco Javier Balmis, left the port of La Coruña on November 30, 1803 course to our possessions of America and the Pacific and in which 22 children of the House of Expósitos traveled next to its rector Isabel Zendal, thanks to which thousands of lives were saved.

After reading a brief summary of the real expedition, the Child's Greater Child placed a bouquet at the foot of the monument.

It is the first time that this event is celebrated, which will undoubtedly be integrated into the program of the events of June 1 in memory of those 22 children from Coruña who, in a gesture of supreme solidarity, managed to expand the world's smallpox.
