XLVII PARTY OF THE AQUELARRE POETICO

On Wednesday, the 24th, at eight o'clock in the afternoon, we will celebrate at the Municipal Theater Rosalía de Castro, the forty-seventh edition of the Feast of the Poetic Aquelarre, an act of exaltation of the Meiga Mayor and the Meigas de Honor of HOGUERAS -2017.

In this traditional festival in our program, which began its journey in 1971 – we remind those forgetful and intentionally misinformed, there are many – will premiere the work "Invocation to the Meigas de las Hogueras", original of Captain Musician Ivan Rodriguez Arman, director of the Music Unit of the Headquarters of the Operative Logistics Force of the Army of Earth, based in our city, who will also offer a brief concert. As a colophon to the first part, the Music Unit next to the Corals of Oleiros, Fonte de Souto and Lembranza de Sada, will play the pasodoble Meiga Mayor, by Emilio Iglesias, arranged for Band by Captain Rodríguez Armán.

In the second part will be awarded the San Juan-2017 Awards; The Gold and Silver Thistles of this edition will be imposed and the General Director of Tourism of Galicia, M ª Nava Castro, will read the proclamation of the HOGUERAS-2017 . The traditional homage of the Meigas to La Coruña will bring the event to a close.

We remember that this act does not have the support of the municipal government of the tide who has even demanded the Meigas Association to pay the fees for the rental of the municipal theater.
