THE MOST SAD SAN JUAN

Every day we meet with more Corunna who tell us that the past San Juan was the saddest in history in recent years. A day that only lived with intensity those who, as every year, celebrate the party on their own, which, on the other hand, is a very worthy way to celebrate, sitting, dancing or dining around their particular bonfire in the sand.

However, it is not just that. There are many people, whole families, who, by age or whatever, prefer to stay on the Paseo Marítimo seeing another dimension of the party to which they are also entitled for that they pay their taxes and curiously for them, just as for the others , Was conceived the San Juan, which, organized by the Promoter Commission, first, and later by the Association of Meigas, in close collaboration with our City Council, lived Corunna during the last forty-six years.

The parades of the afternoon that so much animated the Paseo Marítimo; The spectacular entourage of bikers; The Cavalcade of San Juan; A session of fires worthy of a city like ours and a verbena with attractive, conferred to our Night of Burns in a forced appointment for own and outsiders. All this without counting the acts that during the Week of San Juan organized both the Town Hall, with first level numbers, as the Association of Meigas with street concerts, showy comitivas, gift of flowers, ballet in the street, etc.

All this was borne by those of the tide, making San Juan 2016 the saddest and shabby of history as was its advertising, dark and gray.

As we are told, then of course we did not see it, the fires were worse than ever, bad and scarce, were it not that the birds and fish that inhabit the city would be stressed; The verbena, to give vidilla to his buddies with the money of all. That yes, burned the Bonfire – they call it failure in Valencian plan – with the "uncle the rod" as the central star. A pity.

This is not a festival of International Tourist Interest, something that cost us many blood, sweat and tears and now, these people want to charge at all costs. A party that pretends to be among the best in Spain is much more, a total party, for all and with capacity to attract tourist flows to our city that benefit all.

Let's hope that the tide continues to fall and that next year if God and Lord San Juan want to return to live a full John, making it, as it deserves, one of the best in Spain.
