WE ARE THE VICTIMS

The brashness of those who claim to govern the city reaches such extremes that they pretend to believe that La Coruña is the great beneficiary with its arbitrary and sectarian measure of prohibiting the Meigas Association from celebrating its traditional acts – 47 years ago we started – from the day of June 23, as a big savings for the municipal coffers.

We have said many times and we repeat it again for those who do not want to know. No, it's not going to cost the city ANY ONE EURO, since nothing has been asked of them, neither in constant cash, nor in infrastructure, nor even in other types of support. NOT A EURO, nothing at all.

We invite those from the tide to submit a single document where a request for subsidy to the Municipal Government costs. Moreover, the only thing they were asked for was the free transfer of certain facilities, one of them the Rosalía Castro Theater, owned by all the Corunna and not only the field of action of those who think like them, laugh their thanks – very Few by the way – or are of its political rope. The answer was no, that the Fiesta del Aquelarre did not have enough cultural packaging to use the theater and that if we wanted to do it somewhere we went to the Agora Cultural Center; Now, yes, for others there has been no problem in giving up the theater and even allowing them to charge entry, another irregularity.

In relation to the Rosalía Theater, where the Fiesta del Aquelarre will finally be celebrated, the Meigas Association will have to pay the not insignificant figure of 2,000 euros to be able to use it. There is no point in organizing a program of cultural events, with almost one hundred and one-half citations, all of them free of charge; There is no point in participating in Corals, Theater Groups, Dance Schools, Chamber Groups, Rondallas, Tunas, Orchestras and Bands, all of which have no cultural relevance for these people. Who has it then?

We invite you to demonstrate to the citizens what they bring to the city those entities ideologically related to them for which if there is a transfer of theater, subsidies, etc. That they present their programs so that they enjoy all citizens.

The Spanish Constitution, our Law of Laws, states in Article 14 "Spaniards are equal before the law, without discrimination on the basis of birth, race, sex, religion, opinion or any other personal or social condition or circumstance ". It is something that should not be forgotten because thanks to this Constitution, which we gave all the Spanish, they are there.

We demand that this fundamental right be fulfilled also with the Meigas Association and that the victims are not them; The only victim is the Association of Meigas which is limited a right in relation to others for which if it is scrupulously observed.
